"It should be the most desired sight of all
the person with whom you hope to live and die
walking into a room, turning to look at you, sight for sight
Should be yet I say there is something more desirable:
the ex-stasis of galaxies
so out from us there’s no vocabulary..." -Adrienne Rich
Stargazer. Cosmonaut. Cosmos. Prepare to blast far away from the Earth with Skin Horse Theater’s new original work, Nocturnes (I-III). Told in three distinct movements, Nocturnes examines humanity’s complex relationship to the stars. Bear witness to an improbable journey as you travel from the mission control room of man’s first space flight, to the microgravity environment of a space station, to a cosmic landscape lush with planets, galaxies and nebulas. A symphonic poem on a limitless subject, Nocturnes uses found text, movement, and a striking visual and aural landscape to take the audience from the intimate to the infinite and back again.
